The last time I installed a distro on a computer having the SIS900 chipset, it wasn't supported. Suse did not support it. Mandrake may not. I do know that Libranet does support this card. Unless you find the drivers, you may have to switch distros or do without the network...but how would you do that? Check out Libranet if all else fails. Mandrake, however, is my favorite distro. I just installed a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 250 and I am trying to find out the modules I have to get in order to get the thing working! From what I have read, it is an excellent card since the mpeg compression occurs on the card and doesn't use your processor very heavily. Cheers!

I recently installed an HP DVD 300i DVD writer in my HP Pavilion. The install went smoothly but now, I find out that it is an IDE drive and my cd burner nor my DVD writer functions correctly. I know that I have to enable scsi emulation in the kernel but I do not know how to do this. Can someone explain the steps to doing this so that my cd and dvd drives will function correctly? Thanks!
