Looks great! Thank you. :D

Glad you got it sorted. :)

Good job. Welcome to computing freedom. :)

That's OK. You can still download the old pack from the link in the first post. :)
Yup, I have it.
-
I hope you're not disappointed, but I prefer the old LE2005 pack. I've just never liked 'flares' in images.
Thanks again!

The xdg-menu they have went to in LE 2005 is still a bit iffy. I fixed mine by deleting ~.local and ~.menu then logout/login. That seems to be the fix that works for most people.

Cool. I'll give it a look when I get home from work. :)

I'm planing an update to the LE2005 pack, so the file will not be available for a while...
I'm using your original and it looks great. Thank you!

Hi Kegwen. Welcome to the forum.
2.6.8.1-12mdk is the kernel source package you have installed. If you have installed the latest kernel from the Updates, I believe it is 2.6.8.1-24mdk.
Your running kernel and the kernel source package must match version numbers.

The only file I can't figure out how to roll back is the libcups2 file (it asks to remove too many things) to make it match the cups, and cups-common version.
# rpm -Uvh --nodeps --replacefiles --replacepkgs libcups2-xxx.rpm
replace the "x"s with the proper name of the rpm. might have to use the --force option, too.

I have a HP DeskJet 3550 just a few months old. Works with every distro I've thrown at it.
-
The first mirror I tried is up, but I don't see the RPMs you want. Last updated Thursday the 16th.

I checked it last night at home and forgot to post back.
It works.

OK, you guys check me on this. If you have ogg123 and lame installed, cd to the directory with the .ogg files and:
for i in *.ogg; do ogg123 -d wav -f - "$i" | lame -b 320 -h - > "$i".mp3; done
I'm at work, so I can't check this now. They make us use M$.

Thanks, aru. Very nice work. :D

I see it. Nice, although I'm not too wild on all the icons...
I get that a lot about the icons. Guess I'm just lazy.

After forceing the install of KDE 3.3, I had a problem with the menus. Including no icons. update-menus fixed the entries and the icons.

The newest version of Mepis I've used is Mepis 2004 Beta1. It's based on Debian and is pretty slick. KDE is default and it also has IceWM if I recall correctly. Optional 2.4.x or 2.6.x kernel. I booted it several times as a live CD and then did a HDD install. Very impressive installer. If I had to, I could use it as my primary distro. But I still like Mandrake better. ;)
