  1. woah... I gave up on the java a few weeks ago  :P  I tried all the stuff it said in the various threads, I dunno what Im doing wrong and maybe when Im feeling REALLY bored Ill try to get it working.  My firebird still runs well tho  :D

    its so easy.

    Instal Mozilla 1.5 + Firebird 7.

And all flash + mozplugger .

    With URPMI !!!!!!!!!!!

got the packages.... restarted browser... still no workie :D

  2. Personally, i thought it was funny how they think Windows is God compared to Linux, i have only been using linux for a couple of months (i have had it installed for a few years, but i never really messed around with it like i am now)  and i am loving it. Being able to control everything and learning something that is quite hard to grasp at first is fun. I remember working in tech support during my last year in highschool/ first year in college this guy was talking to me, and he was like "F*** microsoft nad blah blah" he was so much fun to talk to. I talked to him on the phone for like hours about stuff, it was fun.

    great site too.

WOW... thats a wicked site! there is alot of information there that I didnt know about microshaft. Im particularly alarmed by the "microsofts really hidden files" article. Scary! Im really glad Im never use my xp drive anymore... auh man, bill is the  bwahahahaa

  3. I use to hate nautilus but like everything else in gnome it takes a little setting up.Once you do and you master its drag and drop capabilities it's actually awesome IMO.

Why do I read so many posts about how peeps dont like nautilus? I think its nifty, heck, its borderline swell :screwy:

  4. The rpm's came on the 3 disc magazine set of mandrake 9.2...

I had the same issue a few times, when I noticed all the messages were the same I just went ahead with the install anyways and there was never any problems... that I know of :cheeky:

  5. As far as changing it? Can you not rt-click it>Properties>Set custom icon>and drag the desired icon to the address bar? That's how I do all the other sys/type icons with that property dialog.

    foot? change /usr/share/pixmaps/gnome-main-menu.png

have you found this place yet?

    http://gnomesupport.org/forums/

    1. I cant change it that way, its the only icon that wont change with that method...

    2. Thanx!!!

    3. Yes I have it bookmarked... jus too lazy to create a new profile... and yes I know you can post as a guest! lol I just thought Id see how busy I could keep you with my fun questions bvc! ;)

  6. I have some nice icons I got in a zip file but I cant figure out how to change the trash icons... wahhh

I got all the other icons nice, but the trash looks stoopid and doesnt go with the rest... Also, is there a way to change the main menu foot icon?

    PEACE

  7. bvc- you have been my savior lately... God bless you for unselfishly bestowing knowlege upon this humble n00b! I got the GTK Firebird and moved the new folder into my /usr/local/ dir. Now I have a nice smooth firebird and even the font matches now!!! Im so excited!!! Everything is coming together nicely

    EXCELLENT

  8. U rawk brother :headbang: I was reading on the galeon page about compatibliity- it says: "To install galeon you will need Gnome and Mozilla. The current version of Galeon has been tested with Gnome 1.4 and Mozilla 1.0, 1.1, 1.2, 1.2.1, and 1.3a/b. Other versions most likely will not work. NOTE: The 1.2.6 rpm's work only with Mozilla 1.1, and 1.3.x requires at least Mozilla 1.3a."

I was deterred by this because Im using gnome 2.4 and I have never used mozilla, just firebird which I installed when I was using kde.

  9. I got my desktop looking pretty ok in gnome, but auh man the firebird scroll bars look atrocious, and the save file dialoge even worse.... I have firebird installed in my /home/ directory.... I never bothered to properly install it because I wasnt sure how. I read in the firebird forum that youre supposed to put it in the /usr/ dir? I dunno... any ideas?

  10. Unfortunately darkelve those were only smily themes.

At the moment the GAIM team is working on seperating the GUI from the core of the progrma, rhis will mean greater customizability of GAIM, and all sorts of alternate GUIs will pop up soon. On desklets and all sorts of stuff.
