All the cooker sources from the Netherlands have worked flwlessly for me thus far, even my PLF sources work now :) yey!

My 3d was tight in 9.2, but now that I have been using 10 its choppy to the point where its completely futile to try and play a game. I cant even get znes to play smooth. I have a tired tnt2ultra but it was fine in 9.2. Did you notice any 3d degredation initially in 10? I have a feeliing I need to get the new nvidia drivers.

By your postcount it looks like you are new to this... I have the SBLive as well and it took a little tinkering with the volume control in kde before I got things working :) I use gnome now so I cant tell you exactly which levels I was using to get sound, jus unmute all of them, turn each fader down and go one by one with xmms playin something in the background and you will most lieky find the fader you need to get sound

Hi, I just got GxMame lastnight and have it running on Gnome- everything seems to go ok except after a few seconds the sound cuts off. The strange thing is that if I pause the game and unpause it the sound comes back for a few seconds... One bit of info that might be useful, I dunno, The roms are all located on a NTFS drive. thanx

I haven't checked this out for myself but from what I've gathered from some mailing lists I subscribe to, gaim 0.75 has yahoo support working for the US but broken for europe.
mine doesnt work here in the states
-
never mind.... the redhat rpm worked for YIM
cant wait till I can lose that
-
those are the only options... I have been using .72 since I got mandrake and just noticed that none of my yahoo peeps have been on in forever although it said I was connected. I updated to .75 and it wont connect at all. Interesting. Whats the other yahoo clone?

One thing Linux users may notice, is that Firefox (and hence its Gecko rendering engine) has slimmed down in size with version 0.8. Comparing with Firebird 0.7, the Firefox gtk2+Xft tarball is 1.3 MB less in size (8.6MB vs 7.3MB) - getting closer to its Windows counterpart.
Many suggests that Firefox is running faster than Mozilla 1.6, but I guess YMMV on this one.
Note, to curious users, that Firefox, Thunderbird and eventually Nvu (the Mozilla Composer spin-off, development funded by Lindows) will serve another purpose more than mere independence. If the Gecko engine and XUL (XML User Interface) these application use can continue to slim down in size like the progress Firefox has shown, eventually XUL can become a cross-platform GUI itself, just like Qt, GTK, and wxWindows (more than that, Gecko is an HTML/XHTML/XML rendering engine which other GUI toolkit lacks). Firefox' improvement is a good indication how XUL can stand on its own as a cross-platform GUI toolkit.
In fact, Microsoft will incorporate its own version of XML-based inteface scheme, called XAML, in Windows Longhorn. Consider XAML as a competition to Mozilla's XUL, just like C# will try to dominate against Java (more exactly, Microsoft wants its own control of API rather than agreeing on standard). Probably there won't be a Browser War 2, but Microsoft is once again competing with the legacy of Netscape, this time in terms of the technology behind them: XAML vs XUL.

I graduated from Austin, and even I think that Dell computers are usually overpriced piece of junks. The only good thing that comes from Dell is their Latitude series of laptops.. But since Dell (and every other companies out there for that matter) outsource their manufacturing to Taiwanese companies, I don't even know the quality of Dell computers anymore.
bottom of the line chips.... dell is the AOL of the computer world.... EZ as dell.... bwahahahahaaha although I do agree the laptops are decent coz you cant build a nice clone laptop with all the custom chipset and cards u like in it.... AHHHHHH Im kinda drunk.... its my day off.... But for realz, my dad bought a dell, after I tried to convince him to let me build him a pc, and the thing was a bloatware system recources hogging POS. 1.8ghz P4 256 mbram.... my machine- 550 p3, 320 mbram, truly killed daddys dell in speed, stability and overall reliablitiy.... dell, u are the best, we love you dell oh yea, both comparisons basesd on winXP

Hi you guys, its been a while since my last post... things have really been going well for me in my linux world untill lately. My firebird was my pride n joy, the bookmarks, the quicl links, the way I had it set up was just right. For some reason now it wont let me open my default profile because it says it is already open somewhere else. BUT IT ISNT I went to the system monitor and there were no instances of mozilla running. I re log in but it doesnt make a difference. :( Nothing has recently changed on the machine.. I log off sometimes to get on XP so my girl can play burgertime (dont ask) and my xp drive crashes (like everytime) but thats a bad $10 hard drive. My linux has never given me problems so I dont thihnk that stuff is related. I have moz 1.4 and galeon but SCREW them, my firebird was KING!!! Any thoughts???
ps. I have read the mozilla annoying me thread and found nothing I could use there.
u guys rawk ! oh and pps the Butterfly effect is a pretty cool movie ;) case u were wonderin

Cant help you with fonts or mutiple browsers. but here is how I got mozilla firebird working with java.
I dont use the standard java .rpm (j2re) I use Texstars mozilla java:
ftp://mandrake-forum.org/pub/Texstar/MDK-...4-1tex.i586.rpm
After you install it it will put its own "java" folder in the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins Folder. It will even link it for you. I had too many pissed off nights trying to get java working until I found Texstars .rpm.
What about Opera? Never used it myself.
Man I miss Texstar
How did you get that to work for firebird? I got the rpm and tried running it and it says I need mozilla 1.4 to use it. I dont want 1.4 coz my firebird is so nice. As for the profile thing, if you need a new browser open that bad all you need to do is click a link that opens in a new window. Tabbing is so much more nice I dont know why you would want to.
can ne1 tell me where 2 get the 2.6 kernel-source?
