  1. Ok, where are they? I usually get my sources from easy urpmi but that seems not to be updated to 10.0 yet.
  2. Yes! I got it to work by doing some probing and proding.
  3. I had trouble with it in 9.2, but it worked. Now in 10.0 I can't get it to work at all. Any help is appreciated.
  4. Mine is going 15kbps and about twice that fast I am uploading. Now I am going 69kbps. Wonder why I was so slow at first....

  6. Hmm, I don't know what this supermount thing is. That's why I'm a Gnubie. :D Anyway, automatically playing audio cds and things like that is a feature windows has had for years. Good to see Linux getting it.
  7. I read that licensing fees for each game were about $15, though I'm sure that varies between which of the three consoles the games are developed for... Anyway, if the licensing fee per game were $0 then the game publishers could charge less for the game and make more profit. Seems they would love to develop for such a system.
  8. I think it would need USB ports, for the controllers. And, umm, the xbox IS made out of computer parts. The only thing different with my idea, is that it would have to be sold for more because there would be no licensing fees to make up the loss.
  9. Ok, well, what I think would seperate this console from a desktop would be primarily the price. It would be made with cheap generic components and should be much cheaper than a PC. Plus it hooks up to a tv so you don't need to buy a monitor.
  10. Well, I've been thinking it would be cool if there was an inexpensive gaming console that some variant of Linux. I think it could be a success if there were no licensing fees, so game developers could develop for it freely and could offer their games at a cheaper price, and also since this console is basically using computer hardware and Linux it can also be used to surf the internet as well as the other functions of a computer. Now, if this idea worked out it would help gaming on Linux since the games made for this console should be able to be run on linux computers, or if not then should be able to be easily ported to computers running Linux. What do you guys think? Is it a good idea, or is it stupid?
  11. Can someone help me understand the differences between this community edition, and the later download edition?
  12. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...crosoft_ebay_dc I seen those news article and I was reminded of this thread. Maybe there is some connection. :o
  13. Would they really need to redo the site for other browsers if they just followed W3C standards from the start?
  14. I propose a boycott of Ebay until they fix this. There are plenty of other auction sites on the net which do not discriminate against their customers.
  15. I don't know when it was created. I think it's just meant to be funny.
  16. My guess is it means: "Linux Is Not UniX"
  17. After hearing about Bill Gates donating $1 billion in sofware (undoubtedly Microsoft software) to the third world, I wondered if there were any charities that donate Linux or other free software. Why would you need to donate something that is free? Well, in most places of the world people can not afford internet access to get the free software, nor may the internet infrastructure even exist. So it would make sense to donate to them CDs containing the software, since there is no other way they can obtain it.... So anyway, does anyone know of such a charity? I would be willing to mail them any old Linux cds I may have.
  18. Whoever it is must have a mental illness, because who would threaten to destroy something unless it's vulnerabilities are fixed? That kind of action doesn't make sense to me...
  19. He/she is threatening to destroy or muck up the database next time. I don't see anything "white" about that comment. Its not funny, its not clever. Maybe he/she should hack into a psychiatrist database and find a cure for the illness he/she has. On second thought, you are right.
  20. Well, in that case I am inclined to agree.
  21. Well, if he didn't do any permanent damage then he may just be one of those so called "white hackers" which alert sites to their vulnerabilities....
  22. Isn't it true you can just use apt-get to get software on Lindows for free, instead of paying for clicknrun?
  23. If there were Linux versions of the games I like then I would buy them over the windows version, but unfortunately the option is not there in most cases so I will make do with windows games.
  24. I replaced my old 20gb hard drive with a new 120gb one. Took a bit of figuring out, but I finally got it and feel good. Now I have enough room to have windows installed alongside Linux for the sake of playing games, of course.
