Hi,
Ihave bought onother 2Gb RAM and now I have 4 Gb RAM. I put them in Dual Chanel Mode. After that when I boot my Mandriva 2009.0 I found out that it detecs 2,72Gb RAM instead of 3,7Gb.
I installed kernel-server and there I do not have this problem. With kernel-server I got 3,7Gb RAM. Why is this? Any idea why my kernel-desktop do not recognize correctly my RAM? I tried with reinstall of the kernel-desktop but this did not help.

KDE4 effects are different with compiz. So, do not mess them up. CompizConfig Manager is for when you start to use 3D effects with compiz (native or XGL). For desktop effects for KDE4 there is a section in the new KDE control center for that.
I also have problem with this effect explosion and it is not working. But on my computer the key combination Ctrl+F11 initiates the 3D cube. I didn't find a way to initiate it with the mouse yet.

Hi, when I use 3D and for example start to watch a movie and set the player to fullscreen mode, my desktop Panels became over the video screen and hides part of the video. If I set to panels that other windows can cover them when I maximize any window, it covers them. But I do not like this. I want only when I use fullscreen mode for some application to cover the panels, but not maximization. For example when I start TORCS in fullscreen mode the panels start to blinks because both want to be on top of other.
So, is anybody know any resolution about this problem?

Hi, I bought a new video card: Asus en9600GSO 512Mb DDR2
Also, I made a clean install of my Mandriva to 2009 because a had some problem from manually packages update from 2008.1 to 2009. So, the problem which I have is that when I used TVTime to watch a TV I have a strange behavior. When I use XGL 3D the video is good. But If I set to no 3D or set 3D native the video from TVTime is very bad. Actions are visible slow and it is as I'm watching slow motion video. I hope I explain it to understand what is the problem.

I have two computers.. One desktop and one laptop Dell 1535 Studio 15. On the desktop I had installed Mandriva 2008.1 and I upgrade to Mandriva 2009 but I didn't use the upgrade function but I made update of all packages from rpmdrake. On the laptop I made a fresh isntall of Mandriva 2009 from DVD. On both computers the web camera did not work. I can try to remove the dkms-gspcav1-1.00.20-2mdv2008.1 package. Maybe this makes some problem. But for the laptop I do not know what to do. Before I had Mandriva 2008.1 on it but I deleted and made a clean install of Mandriva 2009. On both computers I have sound problems too. On the desktop I can not use the microphone with the skype and on the laptop I do not have any sound at all.

Hi, yesterday I installed on my laptop Mandriva 2009 and on my desktop I've updated 2008.1 to 2009. But on both computers it stopped to work the web cams. I've used dkms-gpca package before but now it is missing. What to do? How to fix my web cams to work back?

Hi,
I have a problem with Manslide program. I want to create a slideshow with my photos, but the output mpeg file is not correct. It contains only the first image with transaction and the rest of the movie is black screen. The soundtrack is there. Any ide what can be the problem?

P.P. With XX i masked my IP address. With user I masked my true user name. I'm trying to make ssh connection to my ssh server. In the console, I do not have problem to make ssh connection to my local ssh server.

Hi,
I found out that in 2008.1 I can not use fish protocol in the konqueror any more. I had installed Mandriva 2008.1 on 2 computer and updated to the last updates. But still fish do not work. Can somebody help with advice?

The problem solved.
I reinstall x11-server-common. There were some problems with it.
I downloaded the rpm package and run: rpm --replcasepkgs x11-server-coomon

Hi, I have a very big problem after last update from Cooker. Only X starts and after that the keyboard is blocked.
I can switch to console screen with Alt+Ctrl+F1 before just appear xterm in X and then to stop dm service. But If I try startx I get that it is already started. If I try to switch to F8 the keyboard blocks again. What I have to update or remove or it was removed? Any idea?

Hi, yesterday I bought a new video card - GB N62256DP2-RH/6200/256MB/AGP
I replaced the old one and started the Mandriva (cooker). Everything went well. The res of the monitor became 1680x1050 (before with old card I manged only to reach 1600x1000 resolution). But suddenly the monitor start to flicker. It flicker more often when I move a window or scroll down or up something. I didn't managed to try with the driver downloaded from the nVIDIA site, there was some problem with kernel source (version.h). But with rpm packages, it is happens all the time. Also I saw that this happens even with nv driver.
Can you help me what to try, how to remove this problem. What is wrong?
P.S. Under Windows XP, there is no such problem.
P.P.S. Sorry, last night I found out that under Windows XP exists this problem too. So, I have to return the video card to the seller.

Hi folks,
I have a strange problem from a couple of days. My MCC do not start and rises this error when I try to start it: pciusb: No such file or directory
Also I get this problem when I try to install kernel rpm and in /boot directory misses the file initrd-2.6.24-desktop-0.rc6.1mdv.img (for example)
Are anybody know what can be the problem?

Ok people. This do not help with the problem.
But this night there was some updates of glibc and cups and some more packages. After I updated them the printing now is OK.
So, the problem is solved.

Hi people.
Yesterday after my update from the cooker I lost my keyboard language switching. The led flash but I still can not write in Bulgarian. When I go to MCC and pass keyboard configuration I get back language switching but I lose keys action for keys between main block and num block. After restart of the X the switching is lost again. Anybody to know for what package to watch for update?

Sorry that I'm late. Here are the results:

Also I have enabled the firewall. Only ssh, ping, ftp, 5900 and 1720 ports are allowed. CUPS is not checked to connect to the Internet. Window manager is KDE.
P.S. With recommended driver when I sent to print the test page in drakprint after 5 minutes the printer start to flash that it will print, and after another 5 minutes it start to print. With other drivers I get 20 minutes.

Hi people,
I do not know are anybody else has the same problem, but on my father's computer I get strange action when printing some thing. I have made a new fresh install of Mandriva 2008 on this computer. It has printer HP 1010 USB connected on it. The problem is that when I send something to print it is printed after 8 minutes. So, what can be the problem for this big delay of printing? Some suggestions?

But I have little a question. When I install MDK in the target partition, if I install nVidia driver, will this work on other video cards ot will work only on nVidia cards.
Also what resolution I have to set before making the ISO file?

Hi, I've just installed new Mandrake 9.2. In the KDE Control Center for the sound server I choosed ALSA. I installed ET, but when I start it there is no sound. I tried with OSS and Threaded OSS but it was the same.
Can somebody help with this?

When I choose a scanner fromthe list, no matter which, and choose the autodetect port, then it is sets the TV Tunner driver for the scanner. Why?
