Thanks... I'll try that out too. I've been meaning to try firebird anyways.

I can't seem to find any mention of bandwidth control ( I assume you mean a quota of sorts) all I see are references to time management ( at what time a user can browse the net. )
These pages may help your research if you haven't seen it already.

based on the speed of the box you are trying to run, I would use the MNF. you can run it headless, and not have to worry about X.

supermount =
And I have never had any luck sending files via gaim.

cool. thats a good place to do so!

how about this. when you first get to a linux terminal do this
hit >alt< F2
in the run box type "xkill"
your cursor will change to a little target. click that target on the kicker bar. your kicker bar will now disappear.
do the alt.F2 thing again
in the box type xterm, or your the name of your favorite terminal program.
run kicker from there. make sure to leave that terminal up and open. now when kicker crashes, you should have some error messages.

I had this same exact problem. I eventually grabbed the tarball and built it myself. try that. it may give you better error messages at least than rpm's will. If you need help...ask!
-
AND so that people using the open, free alternatives to the windows-only kazaa's network can get your files too. This way, eventually, kazaa won't be so "in-charge". :)
Can I get an AMEN!

I'm really glad to see that this has worked out in some manner. I know you and the people who have contributed put a lot of time and effort into that site.

thanks for the perseverence!

<flame-bait>
gdm/kdm is for wussies. real mandrakies use Xtart and create from scratch the entries in /etc/X11/wmsession.d/ (or a directory named like that)

Dyslexic is correct. kde-look even has how-to's for changing your mouse theme.
And yes, the same pointer would be in the powerpack edition.
-
have you tried running it from a terminal? sometimes there are error messages there that are not normally visible.
-
no way! i dion't wanna see that!! there has to be an equivalent. I saw someone on tecttv doing this from a linux machine!
