Tymestream wrote (on Oct 16 2004) "that rute guide is excellent too and in true open source tradition - free" I can't find out how to get a free copy, however (or even an unfree one  ). Can anyone help? Thanks.
There are lots of copies online. Here's one: linux.wombatsweb.com/rute/rute.html. ;)

How do you mirror easyurpmi? Cause the new language is still not available here.
I'm waiting for one of my technical colleagues to fix it... :)

Good job.
-
It's an option in the architecture dropdown box. :)
-
That looks more like it. :)

Browsing the svn I've found this. Judging from the strings this is the one (hopefully).
I don't think that is the last version - it still refers to Mandrake and doesn't have a choice of package manager...

From the release notes:
As Tux Racer has not been free software for a while, in Mandriva Linux 2006 it is replaced by Planet Penguin Racer, which is continuation of the Tux Racer project that was 'forked' from the last GPL version of Tux Racer. It is found in package 'ppracer' and in the menus under More Applications / Games / Arcade / Ppracer. If you previously had tuxracer installed and do an upgrade to 2006, you will find you now have ppracer instead. -
Now this query is solved But how do I mark it as solved?
Edit the first post. :)

You may have to wait for a reply from Trem: it took several months to get their link to our mirror updated correctly.
You might try subscribing to their discussion mailing list, and posting a question there.

1) Now will my system notify me when there are more updates to install or must I go throught the files I would like to update from time to time and redownload them?
You can subscribe to a mailing list here or read the advisories in our forum here.
If you have the "updates" source selected in MCC, all available updates will be presented if you choose the "search for updates" option (or something similar). You can install security updates, bug fixes and/or normal updates.
Please note that official support for 10.1 is due to end this month: Mandriva Product Lifetime Policy. :)

There's a package listing here: qa.mandriva.com/distro/2006.0-free.i586.cd

You should find it on disk 3: in rpmdrake, look at your software sources to see if you have your cd's selected; if you don't have the 3rd cd, select the "main" source. If you haven't set up any sources, use the EasyUrpmi button at the top of this page to do so. If you still have problems, you can use this link:

If you've been waiting for an e-magazine about Mandriva, here it is...

As I only understand catalan poorly I don´t know where to find these options of course ;)
As a first step, you need to take a Catalan course. Let us know how you get on... :D

DesktopLinux reports on the Novell poll asking Linux users which Windows/Mac apps they'd most like to see running on their machines.
I was waiting for the final results, but apparently they're going to collect data for a year, so there's plenty of time for you to complete the survey. :)

More speculation about Google - this time from the Times (of London).

I can't get into KDS to access MCC. Is there a way I can do that from the terminal?
su [root password] mcc
should do it.
-
Go into MCC - Boot - 'set up how system boots'. Click on the Advanced button. Select the 'clean /tmp at each boot' option.
I haven't tried it, but I presume it works. :)

Thanks for reporting back. :)

Thanks for reporting back. :)

If you installed documentation, you should find it on the menu under More Applications - Documentation. If not, go into the MCC and use the Install Software option to search for packages which include 'mandriva-doc'. Select the ones you need. :)
