  2. This is not problem graphics card if running look on System requirements

    Version 4

    Recommended configuration

    * Kernel 2.6 or later

    * glibc 2.3.5 w/ NPTL or later

    * x.org R6.7 or later

    * System Memory (RAM): 512MB

    * Hard Disk: 2GB free space

    * Network Speed: 768 Kbits/sec

    * Graphics Card: 3D-capable with 32MB of VRAM

    Check Your system,

    "snd_pcm_oss " ###this is not OSS driver, this is ALSA driver.....

    and do not use alsa version 1.0.11, downgrade to 1.0.10 ...Lex

    I have this library from my Mandriba 2006 Official on 3xDVD, but after instalation and update as default:

     

    rpm -qa | grep libfreetype

    libfreetype6-2.1.10-12.mdk2006.0.mde

    libfreetype6-devel-2.1.10-12.mdk2006.0.mde

     

    Now

     

    rpm -e --nodeps libfreetype6-2.1.10-12.mdk2006.0.mde libfreetype6-devel-2.1.10-12.mdk2006.0.mde

     

    rpm -i --nodeps ibfreetype6-2.1.10-8plf.i586.rpm libfreetype6-devel-2.1.10-8plf.i586.rpm

  5. Yes, thanks. This is good idea, only this program is not visibility from MCC/URPMI. My idea:

     

    urpmi alien

    alien -r thunderbird*.tar.gz

    I now have thunderbird**.noarch.rpm ###good

     

    rpm -i --nodeps thunderbird*.rpm

    Yes, now my program is visibilty from URPMI

    This program is binary file

     

    whereis my program

    /thunderbird

    Create symlink to /usr/local/bin

    This program now easy remove from URPMI

    I know, this is half-measure

  6. Run firefox this is not problem, configure urpmi and end.

    urpmi firefox

    I have firefox anf thunderbird in format tar.gz. Problem is such.

    How to building RPM package from tar.gz file. In instruction have

     

    rpmbuild -bt firefox-1.5.0.4-2.tar.gz

    -bt: unknown option

    Done

  8. Check Your card on the basis of SBLive!

    from console

    amixer scontrols ##search

    amixer set Line Record unmute

    amixer set Capture 40%

    amixer set AC97 40%

    arecord -t wav -f cd -d 10 -Dplug:dsnoop demo.wav

    -f format cd audio

    -d duration in sec.

    -D device ##for cheap cards

     

    aplay -Dplug:dmix demo.wav

    for help run amixer -L

    If played? run Audacity....Lex

  9. Bugs maybe in /etc/fstab. Windows can renumbering partitions. You have ane Linux LiveCD? e.g. Knoppix, Mandrake Live CD?

     

    Boot from this Live CD and

    as root

    mkdir /rescue

    mount /dev/you_root_parition /rescue

    chroot /rescue

    repair bugs

    run lilo

    If is OK touch CTRL+D

    reboot
