  1. On my laptop, the software mixer constantly took around 20% of cpu (apparently to be able to do software mixing since the hardware can't do hardware mixing) so I just avoid kmix on that system, I use aumix instead - good thing Linux offers choice..!

Don't you find this sentence weird ?

Don't you know that kmix does not do software mixing ?

    Fix this please !

  2. Main, (updates), Contrib and Java are configured correctly.

I don't think that plf will add rpm's I need (although I will try).

As I thought, it didn't solve the problem.

  5. Help me!

And so far I don't see overclocking thing in nvidia-settings (being honest with you I don't need to overclock my graphics card, but you know... new things are exciting)

  6. Is this tip for CRTs or can be used for LCDs as well? My laptop screen always goes grabbled when it goes to standby or suspend. Often I have to suspend it for a few seconds just to clear up the mess on the screen.

    Option "ConnectedMonitor" "string"

Allows you to override what the NVIDIA kernel module

detects is connected to your video card. This may

be useful, for example, if you use a KVM (keyboard,

video, mouse) switch and you are switched away when

X is started. In such a situation, the NVIDIA kernel

module cannot detect what display devices are connected,

and the NVIDIA X driver assumes you have a single CRT.

Valid values for this option are "CRT" (cathode ray

    tube), "DFP" (digital flat panel), or "TV" (television);

if using TwinView, this option may be a comma-separated

list of display devices; e.g.: "CRT, CRT" or "CRT, DFP".

NOTE: anything attached to a 15 pin VGA connector is

regarded by the driver as a CRT. "DFP" should only be

used to refer to flatpanels connected via a DVI port.

  7. /etc/modprobe.preload

    # /etc/modprobe.preload: kernel modules to load at boot time.

    #

    # This file should contain the names of kernel modules that are

    # to be loaded at boot time, one per line. Comments begin with

    # a `#', and everything on the line after them are ignored.

    # this file is for module-init-tools (kernel 2.5 and above) ONLY

    # for old kernel use /etc/modules
