Hi all, I've strayed from the fold for a while now and am about to return. The only mirror I could find at the moment is ftp://mirror.pacific.net.au/MandrivaLinux...ial/iso/2009.0/ . It only has the "free" iso's at this stage. On another tack, G'day AussieJohn.... we must catch up for a beer at some stage..... I've found mirrors in europe ... nl, be,... etc to be the fastest from here! growler

AJ, The last few releases have seen the Isos released 1 month after the Club members were able to get them. November 13th is that day.... Yes I'm counting... Will probably take a few days to populate the mirrors...Like you I've had "issues" with the upgrade from 2006.05RC, and from the forum there's still some bugs to squash (Xorg,usb...etc) cheers Growler p.s. when will we get together for that beer?

aru, Thanks for the reply. Both of my boxes run normal graphical KDE desktops, from KDM ( I think) logon screen. The 10.0 box has 2 normal users while the 10.1 box has 1.

My 10.0 box GKrellM shows 0 users when logged on to the ´normal¨ user.(dl) who -q returns # users=0 My 10.1 box GKrellM shows 3 users when logged on to the ¨normal¨ user (dl) who -q returns dl dl dl # users =3 No logins are apparent on Consoles 1 to 6 on the 10.1 box Can anybody explain this?

apatia, I have had the same problem. I think the installer is broken. If you Use Existing Partitions option you will get the KDE error. Try Custom Partitioning , do not change any sizes just select the root partition and tell it to be /, same with home, tell it to be /home. I found ...use the existing partitions... would setup /home and users on the correct partition but then install another /home on your / (root). KDE would then look at the wrong /home and give DCOP_server errors, etc Anybody care to check ... I did it 3 times before using a bootable CD (DSL) to find this?

To start a long story... I installed a new Geforce FX5700LE , DVD burner and MDK10.0 a few days ago on what had been a stable 9.2 box. The install was the usual walk through and then I installed the 6106 NVIDIA drivers , returned to X and started to set up my usual preferences. I then started to get random lockups/freezes. The cursor would move but I would get no mouse or keyboard responce at all. The only solution was a hard reboot. After searching all related topics on the board (and there are quite a few with this lockup problem) I could find no concensus for a remedy. So today tried the new 6111 driver set....voila...steady as usual all afternoon ( 6 hrs so far). So, for all with this problem ,.... try the new drivers NVIDIA-Linux-1.0-6111-pkg1.run

This problem will keep recurring until... (1) K3B uses IDE natively and/or.. (2) some mod corrects this line in the static FAQ. hdc=ide-scsi, hdb=ide=scsi ... who is listening

aRTee, Arthurking & I & google found that the problem is with us_intl keyboard setup. (w/deadkeys). If you change to us or en_us all is well. Look here.

I know there are some great graphics gurus here. The SLAX (formerly Slackware live) CD distro is offering some $$$$ for a new logo... if anyone is interested. Check here I've tried the live CD.. works fine on my hardware (and at work )
