Guest majkel00
Where in KDE 3.5.1 can I change panels appearance : background, transparency etc. ? In KDE 3.4.2 can I do this by clicking on the panel, and then choosing "Configure panel" - like on the picture: http://img107.imageshack.us/my.php?image=kde3427lv.png In KDE 3.5.1, the tab is different and there isn't option "Appearance" : http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3984/kde3513ji.png Is this right? If yes - where can I find options to change panels apearance? Edited February 26, 2006 by majkel00
devries
Update to the latest KDE 3.5.1 version by mde. Or edit /home/your name/.kde/share/config/kickerrc and add the line: Transparent=true After that restart kicker (open a console and type: dcop kicker Panel restart )
Guest majkel00
OK. It works - panel is now transparent. And what about colors and background images etc., like in kde 3.4.2? If I install from "RPM's by mde" will it be visible "Appearance" in "Configuration panel"?
devries
Yes latest versions of kde by mde have these panel settings again. Else you need to edit the kickerrc config by hand.
Guest majkel00
I see. The latest version will I find here: http://www.mde.djura.org/2006.0/RPMS/kde-3.5.1 or in another location (where)?
devries
For kde install information read the topics in the workbench forum. Everything you need to know is explained there.
scarecrow
Just curious: why rightclicking it and "configure panel" does not work? Mine is also 3.5.1 (on Arch Linux "Noodle"), and the option is definitely there, and working.
