bbc.uk.co news videos do not play

Hi to all, and a big congratulations on the wonderful 2008.0. Everything is perfect, except I do not know what to do to play news videos from bbc.co.uk? I installed mplayer and win32codecs from plf. I also installed the realplayer 10 GOLD from real.com. Any comments/help will be greatly appreciated.

Install the mplayer and real-codecs packages (from PLF), and the mplayerplugin. Then when you go to the BBC, right-click on the video media (that's not playing) > configure > check 'Enable RealMedia Support' and 'Connect to RTSP Media over TCP' then click OK.

Thanks Greg2: Followed your instructions, and now it starts playing, but only the advertisment at the beginning, and then it says "Stopped". IOW, it doesn't play the actual news video. Anything I'm doing wrong?

Do you have the latest flash and java plugins installed? Some (many) sites need them to properly use (script) their video.

Well I have just tried it and my set up works just fine. I have mplayer mozilla-plugin installed with win32codecs, selected from the player preferences to play with windows media and off she goes. It did take a few seconds to begin but it worked fine. Tried it with realplayer but it fell over with that. Running Firefox by the way.
