Guest chad
Hi all, I have a laptop and would like to configure two different NIC profiles, if possible. I'm running Mandrake 9 and have a Linksys wireless NIC that I use at home and a standard NIC that I use at work. Is it possible to have both (pcmcia) network cards in the laptop at one time and configure a way to choose the card I want to use at bootup? By the way, in case anyone is wondering, Mandrake found and configured the wireless Linksys NIC without any effort on my part. I still have not been able to get it to work with Windows XP......... Thanks for the help. Chad
Guest davebsr
erm...I bet if you swapped them in and out, linux would handle them just fine. But having two totally different network settings for each, configured at boot-time. I don't know. I bet there's a way. Read up on networking configuration - then set a bootup script to switch network config files. I don't know how to do it, but i betcha it's doable. Good luck.
