SK_pt
Hi, Im using Apache2 in my MdK 92, and im a newbie coming from IIS6/W2K.NET I want a testing server with virtual hosting, so the idea is to have http://localhost/website1 http://localhost/website2 http://localhost/website3 How can i achieve this? I can make directories in the host root path, but when i have in my html page a call to an image src="/image.gif" i want it to go to http://localhost/website1/image.gif, and not to http://localhost/image.gif as it does with me only creating normal folders inside the general root path. Any ideas? How i can achieve this simple 3 next buttons in IIS6 at W2K? Creating REAL virtual folders in Apache, i don't have domain available i only have the machine name and have to work out a development enviroment from where i can just copy the PHP and put it in production, and givin all the same base as the real server. I can do all my only problem is the virtual directories. thanks, SK
paul
start reading up on mod_rewrite ... you can use mod_rewrite to emulate another apache server exactly ;)
SK_pt
Hi paul, as I said im a newbie coming from IIS6/W2K.NET So I use webmin to do this stuff, and reading apache documents about _rewrite jsut gets me more confused. So it seems that there is no visual way of getting this around as in Microsoft Windows?
