  1. Hi, I am going to buy a PCI wireless card, still checking compatibilities with many differnet ways, about prism45, ndiswrpaper, etc.etc. My question is, KDE have this application, cool application KWiFiManager, will this application work with ndiswrapper? I mean, will I have to setup and run it only in command line mode because it is a "emulation" of the driver from the manufacturer? thanks SK
  2. Hi, I made a reinstallation of MDK 10.0 AMD64, when I now open the Konsole the line shows bash-2.05b$ (I can't even do l->L for listing files of folder, not even i can browser throught folders) It was supposed to appear [user@server user]# as usual anyway to put this back as it is supposed to be? Is this some kind of permissions? thanks, SK
  3. Philips webcams are no longer supported in reent kernel versions PWC stopped being included in it,... so pay attention on that, it may work now, it may not wokr in next MDK version
  4. i have another small problem software 32bits don't work in my MDK10 64bits,... so no KDETV is available... XawTV is avialable and its presumed it works 100% on 64bits, at least i cna open it
  5. Mandrake Control Center uses XawTV dto scan channels, so that exactly what doesn't go furtheris the time when channels are supposed to be scanned thanks, SK
  6. Hi, My MDK10 AMD64, detects my BT878 TV card, but when I run the config tool, so I can scan/have the channels working, it just starts in the console window, but before writting any line about channels found it closes the console window and does no synchronization,... so i can't have TV working in my PC. Anyone knows how to solve this? SK
  7. It is not possible to have the same libraries of gtk2 for 64bots and 32bits, the urpmi just freaks out when i install via control panel software and libraries. If someone was able to have libraries for 32 and 64 bits working together i am interested to know how it is done... for me it i not possible,if i install the packages 64bt from the Cds thats ok, but if I try others, even compile them i can'0t do it because installing libraries simply gives me errors. By the way i cannot boot up the mdk in my system it says "Activating swap partitions" but goes no much further. It really hangs must reset the machine to pass over it.
  8. thanx capnkirby Im gonna try,.. i made the investment on the hardware, and it would be a great pain to have to use the shitty Window$ again after 2 years of MDK concersion thank you SK
  9. Hi, MDK10 64 suckz big time, it's now more than 10 applications I can't have on it, so my question is, can I install the normal MDK10 Official distribution on a 64bits machine? It's a AMD64 This is so od, that I will be forced to install Windows XP Pro, because I upgraded the PC and no way back on the processing department. thanks, SK

  11. Hi illogic-al, I putted Harddrake off, and now I don't get the "Checking for new hardwarw" never, I did boot with #linux udev=mount But now i cannot login with my user account, i put the login and the password, i click on Login, it passes as the login is right, but after that nothing else happens, i just keep with the background image of MDK10 and stay there a long time, the splash screen never appears, i waited 15 mintues and nothing... In the same situation, I do can go further after the login as root in the KDE even waiting 2 minutes in the splash screen at the zone of "Initializing system services", but after the spalsh screen i stay with the red background a lot of time other 15 minutes and nothing happens. I also tryed boot with #linux devfs=mount, and happens all exactly as with udev Tryed again with devfs=nomount, and that way i could login and get inside, but again, no DVD/CD, no usb devices etc.... thanx, SK
  12. RAM (Mo) : 512MB DDR- CPU : Athlon XP-M - 2600+ Connection : ADSL-Ethernet Hard disk : Toshi - 60Gb CD / DVD ROM : Ricoh Video card : Mobility Radeon 9600 - 64MB DDR-R Sound card : AC from KT 400(A) Network : Ethernet KT400(A) SCSI : 1 - none MDK10 XP-Home on dual boot I only can login with devfs=nomount, so when i'm inside the thing i cannot access DVD+RW/CDRW combo drive, i cannot access the embutted card reader (smartmedia, sd, stick, etc.). And probably many more devices I probably cannot access but still haven't checked. This is the ONLY way I can access to login on my laptop, is there a way i can solve this? If I don't put devfs=nomount, the boot of MDK10 hangs on "Checking for new hardware" thanks, SK
  13. i had the same problem, my dvd-burner on my laptop didn't read Ds or DVDs, big scre up... it started working only when my motherboard manufacturer had this new upgrade BIOS, after i upgrade my bios it started working. cheers, SK
  14. hi, still seems not to work I did in httpd.conf file <IfDefine> Port 81 Listen 81 </IfDefine> in the end I putted the virtual hhost config <VirtualHost localhost:81> ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/home/user/wwwprj/websiteA" </VirtualHost> then in command line i did apachectl restart after that I went to my browser but after putting localhost:81 it didn't worked is there something missing? Set to 0 to allow an unlimited amount. # We recommend you leave this number high, for maximum performance. # MaxKeepAliveRequests 100 # # KeepAliveTimeout: Number of seconds to wait for the next request from the # same client on the same connection. # KeepAliveTimeout 15 # # Server-pool size regulation. Rather than making you guess how many # server processes you need, Apache dynamically adapts to the load it # sees --- that is, it tries to maintain enough server processes to # handle the current load, plus a few spare servers to handle transient # load spikes (e.g., multiple simultaneous requests from a single # Netscape browser). # # It does this by periodically checking how many servers are waiting # for a request. If there are fewer than MinSpareServers, it creates # a new spare. If there are more than MaxSpareServers, some of the # spares die off. The default values are probably OK for most sites. # MinSpareServers 4 MaxSpareServers 10 # # Number of servers to start initially --- should be a reasonable ballpark # figure. # StartServers 4 # # Limit on total number of servers running, i.e., limit on the number # of clients who can simultaneously connect --- if this limit is ever # reached, clients will be LOCKED OUT, so it should NOT BE SET TOO LOW. # It is intended mainly as a brake to keep a runaway server from taking # the system with it as it spirals down... # MaxClients 150 # # MaxRequestsPerChild: the number of requests each child process is # allowed to process before the child dies. The child will exit so # as to avoid problems after prolonged use when Apache (and maybe the # libraries it uses) leak memory or other resources. On most systems, this # isn't really needed, but a few (such as Solaris) do have notable leaks # in the libraries. For these platforms, set to something like 10000 # or so; a setting of 0 means unlimited. # # NOTE: This value does not include keepalive requests after the initial # request per connection. For example, if a child process handles # an initial request and 10 subsequent "keptalive" requests, it # would only count as 1 request towards this limit. # MaxRequestsPerChild 500 Include conf/ssl/mod_ssl.conf Include conf/ssl/ssl.default-vhost.conf <VirtualHost localhost:81> ServerName localhost DocumentRoot "/home/joao/wwwprj/websiteA" </VirtualHost>
