daragh
Hi, is it possible to uninstall LILO and boot directly to Windows, and consequently remove Linux from my system? I'm considering re-installing Mandrake from scratch, with new partitions, or removing it altogether and putting it on another machine so this one can become the family video and photo editor. Thanks, and no flames, please. I'm in the I.T. business, and fight these fights every day. Cheers, Daragh
bvc
I answered that here http://www.mandrakeusers.org/index.php?sho...wtopic=9787&hl= :D Rescue mode/CD1 is also how you can restore the mbr and uninstall lilo. You can also do it with the XP cd like on Win2k with fixmbr that's all the mandrake cd1 rescue mode does. For Win98 from a boot floppy it's fdisk /mbr You can boot to CD1>press F1 at the splashscreen>type rescue <press Enter> >chooseRestore the Windows MBR (or something like that...it'll be obvious, I promise) :P No flames here.....I still run Win98 and Win2k...for many reasons, many others here do as well.....for obvious reasons. We don't put up with flaming here.

fuzzylizard
Much easier way is to simply run # lilo -u as root. Works everytime.
