Sunnyr
Alright for fun I installed mandriva 2010 and so far its very impressive, BUT I am having an issue with alien. You see I rather not compile software and I know the risks of alien so when it does not work I cant get the package I want to work. Here is the issue I had when trying to convert a package: [root@localhost Downloads]# alien -r vbaexpress_1.2-0ubuntu3_i386.deb tar: Record size = 8 blocks Package build failed. Here's the log of the command (cd vbaexpress-1.2; rpmbuild -bb --target i386 vbaexpress-1.2-1.spec): Building target platforms: i386 Building for target i386 Processing files: vbaexpress-1.2-1 error: {BBI}Nexus{BBI}
If you're looking for a GameBoy frontend there's: vbam - A GameBoy Advance emulator VisualBoyAdvance-M is a GameBoy Advance emulator. It is based on VisualBoyAdvance and integrates the best features from the various other forks. If you have your plf repositories added you can install from the Mandriva Control Center (mcc) or via the konsole as root with: urpmi vbam Edited November 27, 2009 by {BBI}Nexus{BBI}

ianw1974
For some reason it's wanting to find vbaexpress-1.2-1.i386 in your /root/rpmbuild/BUILDROOT/ directory. Perhaps you need to download the vbaexpress and extract into this exact location and then see what happens?
Greg2
I need solutions here folks, this is a reason why I dont stay with mandy that long: slow community This attitude won't help you find a solution. Anyway, it looks like you may not have the rpm-build package installed. It's not installed as an alien dependency. Please see: bug #53450

Sunnyr
You need to recognise we are all volunteers here. Â You don't employ us, we have other things to do as well! yes I know, I am just used to other communities like Ubuntu's or openSUSE's where I get help a lot faster. ianw1974
I think you'll find that it doesn't matter whether it's Ubuntu's or OpenSUSE's forums, or any other distro - but more the level of your problem. I've opened posts on Ubuntu's forum that have gone unresponded to - probably because nobody had a clue on the problem. But, you really should lose the attitude, I saw it in one of your other posts too. It really won't help you solve your problem, people will read it and not bother to help. So, let's go back to greg2's post. Have you installed the rpm-build package?
