Guest HaloScan
What is the best program (GUI) for recording from a TV-tuner card? I currently use XawTV's record program but that only captures in AVI format and doesn't allow for easy scheduling. I've also tried FFmpeg for straight-to-mpeg captures but that is a console only tool and doesn't allow you to watch while recording and doesn't have any built in scheduling (other than cron). mtweidmann
You might want to check out the Linux VCR howto: http://www.slothmud.org/~hayward/vcr-howto.../VCR-HOWTO.html or, try this tutorial on bcast out: http://www.linuxnetmag.com/en/issue5/m5video1.html Strangely I could never get the avi record feature of xawtv to work.
