  1. Thanks, I bit the bullet and went ahead and tried the install yesterday and it went great. I have to say it was the least painful MDK install yet. On the laptop it prompted me what network connection I had, I said wireless, entered my info and BANG right away it was connected and I was good to go. Heck even the sound works! The only problem is the fonts in away they look crappy. Will have to see if it's just me or if there is a fix for it.
  2. Trying to install MDK 10.1 DVD on my T22 thinkpad(TP) and after I press ENTER to start the install it starts to prompt me for a floppy with something. What is this all about? Is there some files I need to have, so that I can install MDK on the TP? Thanks
  3. Ok good, thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure. Since I had never checked it before. I have always entered my password. Thanks
  4. Not sure if this is the best place to ask to post about possible bug(s) When going into say Computer Setup, it ask for root password, there is a checkmark box(I'm asking this because in the other installs of MDK, I never tried to check the check box),, I check it so that it remembers my root password. Works fine until I reboot, once I do and go back into a app that requires root password it prompts me for the password once again, is this normal? So I have to recheckmark it once again. again neve rused the feature before so I don't know how it should really work.
  5. Thanks as well. I just downloaded the Beta. Will give that a shot this weekend
  6. You'll have to low level format the drive to bring it back. I've had the same issue with my Maxtor drives as well.
  7. I had the same issue with a older system(p500) with the Comm version and the only way I could fix the problem was to low level format the drive. I used the Off release on my AMD 2500+ on a BioStart MB with a Nvidia chipset and it crashed as it was installing the packages, Rebooted and my XP partition was gone. I again tried EVERYTHING and nothing worked. Back to low level format to get XP reinstalled. I'm starting to think I might give up on MDK version 10 totally. Getting tired for all those low level formats.
  8. The major problem here is ATI, GOOD LUCK getting it to work in Linux, I've tried on one of my boxes and it's a just a plain pain in the a** to get it going,
  9. I have the same problem when I log out and want to reboot, I don't have the option. BUT if you SU into root before, then type in LILO then logout then you'll have the option to boot into windows or halt/reboot. Hope they fix this one.
  10. Somehow I deleted the sound.o.gz file. I can't seem to find a copy now. Anyway someone could send me a copy of their file?! I'm running Mandrake 9. This is the info I have when I run a UNAME -A Linux 192.168.1.100 2.4.19-16mdk #1 Fri Sep 20 18:15:05 CEST 2002 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux send a copy if you could to torontodss@hotmail.com Thanks!!!!
