kilimanjaro
I don't know anything about konqueror, but it sounds like it might be missing a dependency that is required for both. I would try in a terminal to do this This is what it looks like for my computer [kilimanjaro@bob kilimanjaro]$ su Password: [root@bob kilimanjaro]# urpmi konqueror You might want to wait for an answer from someone with a little more experience. I just saw that no one had answered you so I figured I would atleast let you know somebody had seen you thread. kilimanjaro

Thanks try making sure that everything under /home/user1/.kde/ is readable and writeable by yousu -c "chown -Rv user1 /home/user1/.kde/" looks like /home/user1/.kde/share/apps/konqueror/bookmarks.xml either isn't there or isn't readable

illogic-al
does konqueror work in kde or any other WM (blackbox , ICEwm)?
manza7
Yes, the file bookmarks.xml exists, I run in gnome, don't know how to switch to kde or ICEwm, I thnk it may have something to do with diaplay :1 not available since my server is in a network closet and I am controlling it through VNC. Since I VNC using :1 display, may be konqueror or kwrite also wants to write to :1 and cannot do so... I don't know, just puzzled.. thanks
