Guest GrahamIBerks
Hi i'm trying to build version 3 of kedevelop but having problems. I have kdevelop 2.1.3 from an rpm which is dependant upon autoconf 2.13. When i try to build kdevelop 3 rc 1 i get the following error *** YOU'RE USING Autoconf version 2.13. *** KDE requires autoconf 2.52, 2.53 or 2.54 Whats the best way of sorting this out. Should i remove the kdevelop rpm installed, then upgrade autoconf and then compile the 2.1.3 and 3 versions of kdevelop. or Look for a mandrake rpm ? I have tried kdevelop-2.1.3-7mdk but it complains about libkutils.so.1 missing but i have kdelibs-3.0.4-1mdk installed ?!?!?! Any ideas ? Thanks
Ixthusdan
I was playing around with kde and I found a similar problem. It seems that I needed to use the Mandrake files to keep all the depends happy. I had been mixing some Mandrake files and other generic files. Some worked together and some didn't. So, it is safer to stick with Mandrake rpm's. One other thing, if I remember, autoconf can coexist with some higher versions, and you can tell the makefile which version to use. I think I read that in the documentation for autoconf.
ktambascio
if you do a: export WANT_AUTOCONF_2_5=1 at the command line before compiling, that will cause Autoconf 2.5x to be used, instead of 2.13. you probably have both installed on your system. Good luck...
