Hi i'm trying to build version 3 of kedevelop but having problems.

I have kdevelop 2.1.3 from an rpm which is dependant upon autoconf 2.13.

When i try to build kdevelop 3 rc 1 i get the following error

*** YOU'RE USING Autoconf version 2.13.

*** KDE requires autoconf 2.52, 2.53 or 2.54

Whats the best way of sorting this out.

Should i remove the kdevelop rpm installed, then upgrade autoconf and then compile the 2.1.3 and 3 versions of kdevelop.

or

Look for a mandrake rpm ? I have tried kdevelop-2.1.3-7mdk but it complains about libkutils.so.1 missing but i have kdelibs-3.0.4-1mdk installed ?!?!?!

Any ideas ? Thanks

I was playing around with kde and I found a similar problem. It seems that I needed to use the Mandrake files to keep all the depends happy. I had been mixing some Mandrake files and other generic files. Some worked together and some didn't. So, it is safer to stick with Mandrake rpm's.

One other thing, if I remember, autoconf can coexist with some higher versions, and you can tell the makefile which version to use. I think I read that in the documentation for autoconf.

Ive got the same problem...

when starting a new project in kdevelop...

***You're using autoconf 2.13

**2.5 works better...

tried to install 2.5 and it tells me it will have to de-install kdevelop...OK

Try to re-install Kdevelop and it says I must de-install autoconf 2.5

Hmmm...

This is still not fixed. How come? Pretty lame IMHO.
