This is the deal. I have a windows machine (win2k) and I have a linux machine (Mandrake 9.1). Each machine has a partition on it that is meant for backup. (Or will be used for backup)

What I am looking for is a way to backup the user files form my windows machine onto my linux machine and the user files from my linux machine onto my windows machine. (Follow that)

And here are my requirements:

1. The backup should be some form of compressed archive

2. The script/program/app/whatever should be scheduleable

3. The script/program should only replace - not add to - the files that are changed past the first backup

4. Should be preferably open source
