Komba2 is I think included on the install CDs, but if not it'll be in one of the sources PLF easy urpmi set ups for you. It does the same job as Linneighborhood its just a KDE app. You have to put some settings into it (like the IP range I mentioned) but its all pretty simple.

better yet pull up a terminal on both boxes and su to root, then see what your ip addresses are. "ifconfig"

If they are in the same subnet that is good. However, you may just need to add a line to your /etc/hosts file like

192.168.1.1                      NameOfOtherBox

then on this same machine type a "ping NameOfOtherBox"

If you get a reply then it just didn't know the name of your other box and needed to be told.

Can't much help with accessing network from gui, but can tell you how to get them talking to one another and all sorts of alternatives to the gui!! :)
