Hi

I am an extreme newbee to Linux. A freind gave me a copy of Mandrake 8.2 only a cuople of days ago. I can get on the internet fine so a half decent start!! However accessing other Windows machines is proving somewhat harder.

I access the internet via a router and ISDN, so Mandrake 8.2 detected this. Browsing the Internet and various forumns I keep finding a program called Samba from which I gather is the program used to connect the Linux machines to Windows machines.

Should this program be installed on Mandrake 8.2 or do I need to download it or find it on the Mandrake CD's.

Thanks for any light on the issue.
