aRTee
The effect of this is its TOO LATE to NOT save partition info becuase it was modified irreparably when you started diskdrake. Just a very small comment on the side: if your partition table is messed up, overwritten or so, but you haven't formatted or anything, you can use a floppy with tools (to download from the disk manufacturers site) to repair the former partition tables. The tables are actually never really overwritten, but merely appended (at least, I once had a problem and could jump back to any of the former partitioning layouts, indicated by dates). Guest kuchwas
Hi, I've installed cooker today. The bug is still there :-( I'm trying to post at cooker or bugzilla but it's not really easy. I'm still trying but if some here use to work on cooker and can help me I think in may be a good thing for everybody. Thanks roland It came through the Cooker mailing list last nigt: [Cooker] [bug 5999] [drakxtools] New: after a partition number shift, trying to format partition n will damage partition n+

I hope they could do something with that. roland P.S: aRTee: didn't know disk manufacturers have tools. Thanks for the tip. I'll have a look. I know the data's are almost never completely lost. Just it seems there isn't a lot of free tools on Linux for recovery ( or I don't know them )
