Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":1.0". kbuildsycoca running... Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":1.0". Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":1.0". Xlib: extension "RENDER" missing on display ":1.0". [xmen@comp xmen]$ Mutex destroy failure: Device or resource busy Try regular konqueror without kdesu, same thing. Aother strange thing, when I click logout, I do not have options to shutdown or restart any more only logoff and save configuration? Please help... Steve Scrimpshire
Can you post the contents of the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file?

Steve Scrimpshire
Section "Device" Identifier "device1" VendorName "nVidia Corporation" BoardName "RIVA TNT2" Driver "nv" Option "DPMS" EndSection There it is. I don't think the stock nv driver for nvidia supports glx. You can either comment out the Load "glx" line or grab the official NVidia driver from nvidia.com and install it and change Driver "nv" to Driver "nvidia"

manza7
OK, thanks for the pointers, I will try later. Curious, does this have anything to do with VNC to the server, I had no problem using Konqueror/Kdwrite without VNC (i.e. directly connected to the server with Monitor rather than VNC into the server and launch)?? Why is the graphic card driver not an issue when connected directly? Thanks :?:
manza7
I loaded the Nvidia driver per Motts link, same result in VNC, cannot do Konqueror or Kdwrite, but both work fine not thru VNC.. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

MottS
Did you try mozilla?
manza7
I gave up and since I had other problem and needed to add another harddrive, I decided to reload MD. Everything seems fine except now when I try to VNC from any W2K machine, (192.168.x.x:1), I got the Linux hour glass and desktop screen but nothing else (no icons of anythng, no error message) The file in /etc/sysconfig/vncserver has the vncservers 1:user in it and Vncserver is loaded at boot, NVIDIA driver is loaded and tested. Mozilla - same result. If I launch VNCserver as root in console (Vncserver :1), then it works but not when logged in as any other user.. Any thoughts?
