Its time to buy a new computer, and as a college student, I thought a tablet would be perfect. Guest JaseP Posted September 29, 2003 Report Share Posted September 29, 2003 If you get one of those tablet PCs, remember that most of the neat software for the hardware functions of those things really aren't developed in Linux the way they are in windoze. For instance, I don't know of any handwriting recognition software in Linux that is ready for prime-time. Nor do I believe that the flipping display functions of those things are supported in Linux yet. I'd just advise going with a laptop known to be compatible with Linux and a PDA that is known to be compatible with Linux (or one that RUNS embedix, like the Sharp Zaurus).
