theYinYeti
I can't send mail anymore. See here for more details: http://mandrakeusers.org/viewtopic.php?t=6959 I've just tried configuring Postfix just as explained by tutorials I downloaded, but nothing changed. But I have error messages. Please tell me what's wrong: ... Sep 21 22:01:24 sedentaire postfix/master[5520]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtp: bad command startup -- throttling ==> mail/errors <== Sep 21 20:02:24 sedentaire postfix/smtp[6129]: fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp ==> mail/warnings <== Sep 21 20:02:25 sedentaire postfix/nqmgr[5526]: warning: premature end-of-input on private/smtp socket while reading input attribute name Sep 21 20:02:25 sedentaire postfix/nqmgr[5526]: warning: private/smtp socket: malformed response Sep 21 20:02:25 sedentaire postfix/nqmgr[5526]: warning: transport smtp failure -- see a previous warning/fatal/panic logfile record for the problem description Sep 21 22:02:25 sedentaire postfix/master[5520]: warning: process /usr/lib/postfix/smtp pid 6129 exit status 1 Sep 21 22:02:25 sedentaire postfix/master[5520]: warning: /usr/lib/postfix/smtp: bad command startup -- throttling ==> mail/info <== Sep 21 20:02:26 sedentaire last message repeated 2 times ... That's the output of tail -f. What's wrong? Yves.
Steve Scrimpshire
I don't really understand this, but this might help you? http://archives.neohapsis.com/archives/pos...03-02/1477.html If you click the 'Sort by thread', you'll be able to view the responses. I think you need to be concerned about this line: Sep 21 20:02:24 sedentaire postfix/smtp[6129]: fatal: unknown service: smtp/tcp I think it's because smtp cannot read /etc/services(?) theYinYeti
That indeed seems to be the answer. I'll look at it closier. Thanks for the link :) Yves.
