Just John
Sorry, I know you probably get this all the time cause I know it happened to me once before but I can't for the life of me remember how to fix it and a quick search didn't turn it up. Desktop I was told has 2GB of RAM, shows up as 864MB or something in the performance monitor. However, MCC->Hardware->Browse and configure hardware->Memory shows 4 modules, DIMMs 1 and 3 at 1024MB, 2 and 4 at 256MB. I'm going to take a wild guess and say it actually has either 1.25 or 2.5GB and I need to enable some hi-ram switch somewhere, right? +1 internet to the first person to tell me how :)
jkerr82508
You presumably installed from the demo disk (Mandriva ONE) for an old release. http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/2008.1_Errata#...to_880MB_of_RAM Jim
theYinYeti
Up to Mandriva 2009 (not included), the kernel desktop586 couldn't see more than 8xxMB of RAM. You have to install the desktop kernel (not 586). Yves.
