My KDE will not start anymore in Mandrake 9.1. I boot up to a command line and type in "kde" to start, but now I get the following messages and end up back at the command line.

Could not start kdeinit: check your installation

relocation error: /usr/lib/libkdefx.so.4 undefinded symbol

/usr/lib/startkde: line 101: xmessage: command not found

warning connect() failed: no such file or directory

Error: can't contact kdeinit

I tried upgrading and reinstalling KDE. gnome and the other dm's start fine. Any hope here?

thanks,
