need help installing midnight commander!!!

i have downloaded it and extracted it to its folder..

 

now how do i get it to install??

 

i tried reading th read me that came with it wants a program to open i tried using one but it didnt work..

Why don't you install it with the Software Manager (rpmdrake)? Go to the Mandrake Control Center (MCC) then clic Softwares and then InstallPrograms (or something like that). Then search for midnight commander (mc). You should see it .. then select it and press Install. If you don't see it in rpmdrake then add some sources (specally Contrib) to your rpm database. Go to the following website for that .. 3 easy steps

Then search back for mc in rpmdrake.. you should see it now.

Open a terminal and type su, enter your password. Then type "urpmi mc".

It's on the disks! Your box will tell you which one to insert into the drive, and install it. :wink:
