Guest anon
OK, one of our servers is in rsync with several others. Problem is, everytime it checks for new files or updates it sends a mail to /var/spool/mail These are all cron jobs, and while i figured out how to send the mail to anywhere i want. I can't find out yet how to stop it sending mail. I want some cron jobs to e-mail me, but not others. Should be easy to do but........im having a bad day. Any help please? theYinYeti
As far as I know, any output from cron jobs is sent by mail. Maybe you can simply try to append >/dev/null 2>&1 after each command you want to NOT send a mail, in the crontab file. Yves.
