Guest JerryJerr
Hello all. Thank you for taking the time to read this n00bie problem I am having. When I click Burn CD, The Summary reads: Mode: Audio CD Speed: 8x (CD-W) 4x (CD-RW) CD Infro <none> (74:04) Settings CD-R (is marked) fixate CD when done is checked, multisession CD is not checked Then I click Burn and I receive the following error: "An error occured while decoding "/mnt/removable/MP3's/80's Rock & Pop/Hall and Oates - Adult Education.mp3 Playing MPEG stream from Hall and Oates - Adult Education mp2... I am attempting to burn MP3's located on my Ext USB 2.0 hard drive. Is that the problem? Is that not allowed. Do I have to burn those MP3's in a directory or file inside of Mandrake, not from an external source? Has anyone else run into this problem? Thanks very much :)

Steve Scrimpshire
Thanks for all of the assistance and help on this problem. That's not gonna get you brownie points with all these very, very helpful people here. A simple http://google.com/linux search on "An error occured while decoding eroaster" turned up these possible solutions: Try it as root or Install Lame It would be most helpful if you would start eroaster from a terminal so you can see more verbose errors in the terminal itself. It will probably tell you that you are missing some dependencies.
emh
You can also try K3B. It's more newbie friendly than E-Roaster, in my opinion. Aside from that, another option is to install the disk-writer plugin for XMMS, play all the MP3's you want to burn through the disk writer (so that they're written as wav files), then burn the CD using the wave files. Guest JerryJerr
Thanks EMH, I'll try that suggestion. Sorry Steve, I meant no disrespect. It was a newbie mistake. I'll start using Google Linux more in the future. Thanks for the suggestion. I've been trying Mandrake for almost a month now and I have only posted twice. I try to read as much as possible. I didn't mean to offend anyone. I was just frustrated not seeing any replies.
