Guest herges
Hi, I've installed Mandrake 9.1 a few days ago and I am struggling with the X configuration. The problem is that I can't get higher resolutions than 640x480 @ 60Hz. I've had a look at the X server log file and even though there is only one CRT monitor connected to the VGA connector of the card and nothing to the DVI connector the log file mentions two DDC probes with the first one returning very low values and the second one the correct values for the connected monitor. It looks like the DVI port gets probed first and returns DDC values (which it shouldn't ) and these values seem to restrict the resolution on the second connector as well. (maybe some CloneDisplay setting?) Has anybody got a smiliar problem or can give me some advice on how to solve this problem?
mtweidmann
A work round would be to edit the x config file manually, but doesn't really fix your problem. The file /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 from memory and is pretty self explantory if your just editting.
Guest herges
I've been playing around with the config file manually but none of the options have done anything so far. Is there a way to disable the DDC probing for the DVI port?
