Guest FenestraeNunquam
well, I decided to give it another try. Seems like I'm up and running now. I chose the Recommended Install this time, and when it told me it found existing partitions (screwed up previously) I told it to clear all, and then I made the partitions as bvc suggested (/, swap, /home, and mnt/share). Anyway, it seems ok now. here is what df shows now: Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on /dev/hda1 5.3G 1.5G 3.6G 30% / /dev/hda6 4.7G 34M 4.6G 1% /home /dev/hda7 28G 4.0K 28G 1% /mnt/share does that look right? btw - sorry about the last post, I was kind of ticked off at the moment. I know this was all my fault in the beginning, and not mandrakes.

Guest FenestraeNunquam
A couple of posts ago, bvc said he wasn't sure what I didn't know. Mainly it was the partitioning questions. For example, it has alot of options such as /var, /usr, blah, blah. And sometimes when I created a new partion it made it /usr automatically. Eventually, uder the "recommended" install where I had it erase all existing parts, I just did the /, swap, /home, and for all the leftover space /mnt/share as bvc suggested. anyway, thanks again !! :)
