Gowator
OK ... sounds like a lot to ask .. Say I wanna Internet access only machine Im running the whole of X just to run Firebird. Yet my palm can run a browser on a tiny processor and practically no memory. Anyone know anything that would run as FB in the console .... Heck you can run DVD players from it, how hard is a web browser?
theYinYeti
Maybe the graphical version of links...
Michel
I programmed in Qt at school and during one of my lookups in teh Qt-docs..I saw something that you can compile your app, so it doesn't need X....
iphitus
you could use links at command line, it does tables and javascript just not pics. If anyone can find one like the one I mentioned but has images please post it!

Gowator
I was thinking more the Qt way.... Basically i want a FULL web browser...flash, Javascript etc. Like Firebird with no X.
iphitus
whoa! ok a bit of a google and a peek at tucows found these: Zen: http://www.nocrew.org/software/zen/ And I'm sure Links can be compiled to run without X http://atrey.karlin.mff.cuni.cz/~clock/twi...s/download.html dunno much bout this but might be usefull http://xray.sai.msu.ru/~karpov/links-hacked/ and elinks: http://elinks.or.cz/ Some of them aren't any good for what you want but are still pretty good altermatives James
iphitus
I've just tried installing zen. I failed to install it. But it looks promising. But no Flash or Java. YOu are very unlikely to find a browser that'll do that without X. James
theYinYeti
It seems it's not really an answer, but I fount this and I remembered you asked something related, so... http://blueflops.sourceforge.net/features.html Here you have a graphical web browser (links), without X.
