mtweidmann
I'm guessing for your post hat you tried to compile from source. What the error message means is that it can't find GCC (the compiler). This could be because you didn't install it, your path is incorrectly set up, or the software script is looking in the wrong place. Its unlikely that you didn't install the compiler, its part of the default MDK install and unless you've messed around with your path its probably ok. Check the documention that came with the tarball and it should tell you how to poit it at the right place. Or install Kopete as a rpm, theres one knocking around as that how I installed it. Try doing a search for it in urpmi, and if it doesn't turn up check you've got contrib and plf added as sources.
theYinYeti
Maybe no C compiler is installed. try going to the software manager and adding gcc and g++. Yves.
