chris:b
Just curious... I can reach our second Win 98 PC using: smb://192.168.2.101 in Nautilus. I can see the shared dir and the files, can copy etc. But it doesn't work with Konqueror. I can see the shared dir, but no files, it's spinning forever, searching. Is it a KDE issue? MDK 9.1, KDE version from the cd, no tex upgrade, mdk updates installed. Anyone?
mtweidmann
I can't Sambe to work with Konqueror either, I can see the folders shared by other people but can't access them. I've played with all the setting sin KDE Control Centre, and eventually gave up (for the moment  ). If anyone has got any ideas/tips would be very interested to hear. :)
chris:b
I've found that this is a problem of the Mandrake KDE configuration - (MDK 9.1 - KDE 3.1, possibly solved with KDE 3.1.3, I don't know and maybe in 9.2). Ranger made a fix for this, I had to replace the two files: kio_smb.so kio_smb.la with the changed Ranger files, which can be downloaded here: http://ranger.dnsalias.com/mandrake/9.1/ Now smb:// works with my kde version. Writing this for those of us who don't plan to upgrade their system to a newer KDE version or to 9.2 ... --anna
chris:b
Sorry, I forgot: The files are in /usr/lib/kde3/ You can overwrite them.
