heather1113
One little problem I have had is everything I print is sort of washed out looking. Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? On this same printer in Windows everything looked nice and bright, if that helps. I have a Canon S300. I have tried using different drivers and I have tried changing the settings. Right now I have it set to high quality printing and set at 600X600. Everything else is working great so I could live with this if I had to, I just would rather not. Thank You in advance.
schussat
There are a couple of additional options you can try: Using CUPS, you can increase the print density or lower the gamma value. On my printer, print is fairly light; raising print density to 1.75 seems to do the trick.
heather1113
Thank You so much! It worked. I raised the print density to 1.75 and lowered the gamma value a smidge. Hopefully it's alright that I did both. I had been leery to mess with the numbers much before but now I know what to do in the future to adjust printing. :D
Guest GorGor
Another option under CUPS is to create a new printer and when given options select High Quality or the highest DPI setting your printer can handle. Cups seems to assume you want to be mingy with your ink in the default settings. HQ and hi DPI will slow your printouts. enjoy
