william Posted August 12, 2003 Report Share Posted August 12, 2003 Just a simple question from a linux newbie. Is there any problem of having different versions of libs installed in the system? There are some apps that according to its versions asks, during the installation process for a lib of same version, ie: during xine-ui-0.9.8 installation it asked me for xine-lib-0.9.8. But I had a previous version already installed. What shoud I do? Install the new one that the xine asks for or install xine with --nodeps argument. But if they want to uninstall your entire system in order to satisfy depends, don't do it! :lol: Then I would try no deps. But, that could be fun as well.
