gabbman
Not sure, but maybe change the settings to /mnt/cdrom. BTW, nice avitar
william
Yeah, this avatar is cool.(they are syncronized!!) Could you give a little more detailed instructions. I mean, My cdrom is already mounted. I've been listening cd's normally since linux installation. Under preferences tab in Mplayer I changed the DVD "mounting point" to mnt/cdrom, but still not working. Any other input?

Guest Kamikaze_Gerbil
If you're using the gui its under preferences misc
pmpatrick
First, I don't think you should list it by mount point in preferences>misc, but by device file. Second, since you have a combo drive, my best guess would be that it's running under scsi emulation. Check your /etc/fstab and see if you have a line referencing /dev/scd0; that will be your combo drive if I'm right. Finally, I'm not sure that dvds will play well, if at all, with the drive running under scsi emulation but you can give it a try. Just change the device file for dvd to /dev/scd0 in preferences and see if it works.

bvc
not on linux rt now, but doesn't mplayer have a 'test sorta thing' like xine? Are you running it from a terminal to get max output to the prob?
william
bvc: the mplayer was installed with rpms tools in mcc. bvc
Now you've found why I use xine from the cd's  ...though they say for encrypted you'll need a libdvdcss from plf. They only way I got mplayer to work was with rh rpms from freshrpms, though plf's works also....so they say. Sorry I could be more help. That's what others will suggest.....is plf, we are (or were) mirrored in our download section.

william
xine with one of its frontends should be a better choice to playing any video file outhere here instead mplayer (very cool skins).
