javaguy
Do the Nvidia drivers that Mandriva automagically installs when I set up my display fully support GeForce 9800 GTX? Where would I find this information? I'm trying to figure out if I should use the rpm or install the drivers from the Nvidia site.
medo3891
You need the driver in the non-free/backports repo: http://wiki.mandriva.com/en/Updating_propr..._from_backports
adamw
If it offers you a proprietary driver, and you install it, and the card seems to be working fine, stick with that. If you don't get offered a proprietary driver, then as medo says, get the newer version from /backports following the instructions on that page. I am being vague because I don't quite remember whether the driver we initially shipped with 2008 Spring supported the 9800 GTX. I *think* it did but I may be wrong. medo3891
No. The driver that was initially shipped with 2008.1 doesn't support that card, I remember you saying this at forum.mandriva.com : ) He needs the driver in backports.
