mindwave
i'm having an issue so i thought I'd run memtest the system is an AMD athalon 1200 with 100MHZ FSB and 133 ddr ram. i Started running memtest when i went to bed and 6 hours later it was on test 7 reported NO errors, but I was just wondering if it should be taking that long. i realize the pc isnt a speed demon but i'll use it as a server as long as i can! j
adamw
If you're waiting for it to finish, you'll be waiting a long time. :) It cycles, it just runs over and over. If it shows no errors after an all-night cycle then your RAM is fine. Just stop it and reboot.
daniewicz
I agree with adamw. Let it run overnight.

daniewicz
my screen blanks after the initial choices screen I had this problem intermittently with my 2008.0 install. I was able to rectify this by changing the Plug & Play OS option in my bios from NO to YES. You also might want to experiment with ACPI boot options from within MCC. kfoss
I agree with daniewicz that you should experiment with the ACPI settings. As your PC is relatively old, you may actually cause more issues that you are solving. I would recommend experimenting with ACPI by using the kernel boot options than making them in MCC as they are more easy to recover from this way.
