Guest maroun
I have never compiled a program successfully!! I always do what is said...: ./configure but this step never ends successfully...I always get errors somewhere or another...I had problems with Qt libraries but the ./configure is passing them now (i don't know how!)...the latest problem is this: I run Mandrake 9 with KDE3 and when I use ./configure (for example for karchiver [a program]) everything goes well until it says libjpeg not found but it continues then stops at this line: checking for KDE... configure: error: in the prefix, you've chosen, are no KDE headers installed. This will fail. So, check this please and use another prefix! What should I do!!!
qeldroma
Make a "urpmf whatHeNeeded" (search for the library/file) and see if that package is installed by "urpmi resultedPckg" (install package). That's the way i do it. Be carefull, when he configures, some things do only appear as "checking for blalbla ......... no". Sometimes this are interesting, too. Most times you only need to install that files he errors on.
bvc
My guess would be that you're missing a kde??-devel pkg.
