pppd and chat script

ok so i finally got my freaking modem to dialup. I have to use pppd and a chat script, cause if i use kdial or any of the other graphical interfaces my machine locks up and i have to hard reboot. This is cause my drivers are a crappy fix for mandrake 8.2 kernel.

Anyway, i have my chat script and it connects.. i call it using a pppd script that goes:

/usr/sbin/pppd /dev/modem connect "./dial-mindspring" updetach crtscts modem defaultroute

now my question is...how do i tell it to hang up? I know this is an odd question but i don't get it at all?

well my problem starts just there.

I also use a pppd command to get my modem connected and it does so but while I see modem lights blinking (connection is there) my browser can't load any side.

it seems like I only open a connection without making it public/available..

What am I doing wrong?..

anybody got an idea?
