Guest BooYah
I'm thinking it might be nice to be able to call Midnight Commander or Links from the wmappl applet or a desktop icon/shortcut. However I can't figure out what command wmappl or idesk should send to open an Eterm then call links or mc from that terminal. Can someone throw me a hint? :? Guest BooYah
Thanks again tyme. I was under the mistaken impresssion that I needed some sort of bash trickery, never thought about it being an Eterm thing. Eterm is much more than what I though it was. tyme
no prob. most terminals have a switch that you can use to tell it to execute a program. although, once it's done executing, the terminal will close itself (this shouldn't be a problem-I only ran into it when running EQ using WineX, because it passes the execution onto another executable, and so as far as the terminal was concerned, the process it started was done. the other process wouldn't start...it was odd. but whatever, i'm rambling!!) ezroller
on the idesk config for easch icon, can't you just set the command string to look like exec programname so that it doesn't run in a terminal? On my box when i do that, i get the terminal as well.
