Guest quakey
Hi, I recently just got Apache server up and running on my linux machine and I am very excited. I want to let my friends to see my webpages there but I am on dynamic IP. So everytime my machine's IP will change and my friends wouldn't be able to see the website. Is there a way to somehow let my friends know my IP everytime my machine gets online? I personally have another website hosted by Hostway. So maybe I can post my machine's IP on that site so ppl can just go there to find out my IP?? That is the only method I could think of right now. But I would need a way to automate this process. Any other suggestions? Thank you very much.
tyme
You could also sign up for an account over at no-ip.com which comes with a linux program to update your IP when you sign on so that it becomes associated w/whatever name you choose, i.e. whatever.no-ip.com
Gowator
The free service you mention looks, well fine and free. Has anyone got much experience of different dynamicIP providers, I really need to get something but any personal recommendations would be great!
