iphitus
I've been looking for some GTK2 and Metacity themes for gnome. I just can't find the right combination and themes. Does anyone have a site other than art.gnome.org and themes.org with themes for these? Anyone got any reccomended combinations themes? No Apple/Aqua themes thanks Thanks in advance James
iphitus
I don't think GTK (1) themes work. If they do, how did you do it? My commonly used apps are mainly GTK2 I'm using Gnome 2.2, MDK 9.1. I'm looking for some darker themes. Thanks again!!! James
bvc
It's not dark, but here's my fav (6nome) http://themes.freshmeat.net/projects/6nome...ic_id=987%2C958 http://themes.freshmeat.net/screenshots/36281/ For a dark metacity, have you tried Aero? http://themes.freshmeat.net/projects/aero/...o/?topic_id=987 There's also gnome-themes-extras; http://www.gnome.org/~uraeus/ but to have the latest you'll have to compile as the new rpms have deps that require gnome 2.3.3 (basically). Just get the tarball>uncompress it>cd to the source>./configure --prefix=/usr>make>and (as root) make install. you can try src.rpms and rpms here; http://people.ecsc.co.uk/~matt/downloads/r...mes-extras/0.1/ ....again, not realy anything dark....whuz up wi_dat? Unfortunately, freshmeat, themedepot, and art.gnome is it for gtk2 (that I know of). I'm not going to get into gtk+1.2 because it seems to be getting lost in the shuffle now that gtk2 is maturing. I have many post that may help you but now, with gnome 2.2, what works for one user doesn't work for all, so it's touch and go. I will say that (if not already done so) the first thing to do is to remove /usr/bin/mandrakegalaxy from your running sessions. Go to your Preferences>Sessions>Current Session tab>highlight /usr/bin/mandrakegalaxy>Remove>Apply. 'Switch' or gtk-theme-switcher still works for most users. :)
